12 botanical specimens from an important 18th century French Herbier, each annotated in ink with the name of the plant species and when the specimen was collected.
The collection was assembled in Paris between 1779 and 1780, 10 years before the storming of the Bastille and the French revolution. Collected in the last decade of the reign of Louis XVI and the final throws of the French absolute monarchy, these plants were meticulously collected, annotated and preserved, such that they have lasted more than 240 years
